This is Nellie, a 9 year old Yorkshire Terrier, with what looks like, the remains of her Christmas bow.
Fancied a change of scenery, so last weekend I took Barney over to Dunorlan Park on a lovely Saturday morning. Thought there’d be plenty of new dogs to photograph and I wasn’t disappointed.
My first post from that morning is of a very special and well-travelled dog. This is Papaye (which is the French female version of Popeye). The owner is a foreign diplomat and Papaye once belonged to the Algerian Ambassador in Uganda. This is where he took charge of Papaye. I’m sure the owner won’t mind me saying, but he’s a big, solidly-built man and he thought he’d be getting a dog to match his stature. I’m told he received a fair bit of ribbing by his friends and colleagues when little Papaye was presented to him.
As I said earlier, Papaye is a bit of a global mover and some of the countries she has lived in, include Africa (Uganda and Togo), the Caribbean, Bulgaria and the Seychelles. Very nice indeed. Still, Barney isn’t at all jealous – he went to North Devon in the Summer.
